African RPG Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan hits Steam
Release date set for the game that comes out of Cameroon.
The first game development studio based in Central Africa is to release next week and is open for pre-orders now. Kiro'o Games was founded in 2013, and was the first Central African developer to be formed. The studio will soon release its first game, Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan. It was funded on Kickstarter in September of last year, managing to raise almost €50,000.
According to the developers, the game pays homage to the culture and legacy of Africa, featuring hand-drawn and animated African-style graphics. The game claims to be around 20 hours long, and will be packed with innovative RPG gameplay filled with combat and combos. It takes some inspiration from the old Tales Of series, with a focus on 2D real-time combat sequences.
Olivier Madiba, the founder of Kiro'o Games, said: "We are so excited and grateful for all the support from our fans and are looking forward to delivering on our promise of Aurion in terms of great and unique gameplay. We are so honored to be able to represent our rich African culture and heritage in our game and are so excited to share it with gamers around the world."
The game will release on April 14, and will be available on Steam. It can be pre-ordered from the game's website with a 15% discount and a free soundtrack included.
