Danish player Mohamad Al-Bacha won the title of FIFA 16 Champion, by defeating the British hopeful Sean Allen in the FIFA Interactive World Cup final. After an intense tournament, the decisive game was played at the Apollo theater in New York, which was attended by Spanish international and captain of the New York City FC, David Villa. The final was a true drama where Al-Bacha was two goals down as the second game entered the 90th minute. The final was played over two legs with Allen getting a seemingly good result on Al-Bacha's home console (PS4), however nerves may have come into play as Al-Bacha rallied back to 3-3 in stoppage time in the second game to win on "away" goals.

Mohamad Al-Bacha also received a check of $20,000 and an invitation to be present at the Ballon d'Or ceremony in Zurich, where the next Best Football Player in the World will be presented. Mohamad Al-Bacha was of course very pleased with the victory, and stated he had to really work on his performance, and "was really keen to play my best here in New York".

EA Sports also revealed that more than 2.3 million players from around the world participated in the tournament's online qualifying rounds. You can watch winning moment on YouTube.

REVIEW. Written by Ricardo C. Esteves

"In terms of licenses, general presentation, graphics and game modes, FIFA 16 is superb, as it always has been, but more importantly, gameplay has been improved in all sectors."
