Activision Blizzard struck gold with their remake of the first three Crash Bandicoot games from the original PlayStation, delivering them to PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, but a new tweet from industry leaker Sabi indicates that we should expect more from Crash.
"Heard from a good Acti connection that Activision does have a new Crash game coming. And no, not specifically that 4chan leak that included World. Can't deconfirm World, just know that's not what I'm talking about. Vicarious seems to be it, but can't be 100% on that part," the tweet reads.
"They said new, not a remake," Sabi clarifies.
Fans got excited earlier this year when Crash Bandicoot artwork was spotted in a Toys for Bob tweet (now cropped to exclude the artwork), so perhaps the studio that made the Spyro Reignited Trilogy could be helping as well.
As if all this wasn't enough, fans spotted a new mask in the Time to Play advert for PlayStation this month (which you can see at around 0:11 below), to which Toys for Bob's character artist responded with just a curious emoji.
Recently a rumour appeared on 4chan claiming that this new Crash game will be called Crash Bandicoot: Worlds, featuring new lunar, sun, and eclipse masks, but this is the source we'd take with the heftiest pinch of salt.
We'd be more inclined to trust Sabi, however, as this leaker received threats of legal action from Nintendo after learning all of their E3 plans ahead of schedule, so the sources are clearly reputable.
For now though we'll have to wait for more news on a potential new Crash game. Is this something you'd like to see?
