Now that BLAST has settled in as the new organiser and host of the Rainbow Six: Siege competitive scene, taking over from Ubisoft itself as of 2023, it has now also revealed how it will be adjusting the format for the 2024 season.

The main thing to note is that there will be a revamped points qualification system for teams looking to attend the Six Invitational in the future. This will also feature a greater emphasis on Major performance, meaning teams will net more points based on their results at Majors over regular season play.

Likewise, Majors will see fewer teams in attendance, as only 20 teams will qualify going forward, down from 24. The regions that will bring fewer teams are from Asian regions, seemingly where the competitive scene is less popular.

Otherwise, BLAST has shown how regional qualifiers will be structured for each of the respective regions. You can see Europe's below, and can see the rest over here.

Lastly, it has been confirmed that matches in the first stage of the 2024 season will kick off from March 11, 2024, meaning it will only be a few weeks of offseason following the upcoming Six Invitational before teams return to action.
