EA and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has announced a bunch of changes for the 2024 eChampions League. Set to feature a $280,000 prize pool, the event has been tweaked so that it suits the EA Sports FC Pro ecosystem and is now also exclusive to football clubs.

The tournament will kick off with regional FC Pro Leagues throughout February, March, and April, where teams will be looking to earn qualification to the group stage of the eChampions League. In many ways, this is similar to how the physical Champions League format works, except now there will also be a draft where teams will be building out their teams and squads in-game based on set requirements.

Once the groups stage are set, competition will take place over May 11 and 12 and will see a knockout bracket formed, where the top 24 players will head to London between May 18-19 to compete in a single-elimination tournament where the top eight will move forward to the eCL Finals. The Finals themselves will be held on May 29 in London as well, just ahead of the actual finals of the physical tournament, where over 1000 fans will be able to attend.
