The FUT Champions Cup Barcelona took place this past weekend, the first event in the FIFA 18 Global Series, paving the way to the FIFA eWorld Cup later this year, and it was 16-year-old British player Donovan 'DhTekKz' Hunt who lifted the trophy at the end of it all, after facing Nicolas 'nicolas99fc' Villalba in the grand final.

The grand final started in great fashion, with DhTekKz taking a really early lead to begin his domination of the first leg, although nicolas99fc did pull the score back to 3-2 against him to go into the second leg. DhTekKz again took an early lead in this match though, and it was soon all over, as he registered a 9-3 win on aggregate.

For those who don't know the tournament is divided into PS4 and Xbox divisions, with 32 players in each console bracket, and DhTekKz was on the Xbox side of things, while nicolas99fc represented PS4. DhTekKz came into the Xbox bracket as a total newbie, this being his first major competiitve event, and registered a 5-2 record in the group, beating big names like Corentin 'Vitality Rocky' Chevrey.

It's safe to say that this first event of the year lived up to expectations then, and for more on the Global Series and the Champions Cup in Barcelona, check out the website. Can DhTekKz dominate this year?
