Earlier this year streamer Tyler 'Ninja' Blevins left Twitch to stream exclusively on the Mixer platform, and Michael 'Shroud' Grzesiek did the same later on, although StreamMetrics reveals that 15% of Shroud's viewers followed him to Microsoft's streaming platform.

First of all, the data reveals that Shroud's US audience last month was a third of the US audience he managed on Twitch in October, down from 718,000 to 231,000, with 15% of viewers who watched him on Twitch in October also watching him on Mixer in November.

However, it should also be noted that 47% of Shroud's Mixer US viewership last month came from viewers who also watched him on Twitch in October. That means that over half of Shroud's Mixer viewers in the US were new to the platform, so 127,000 people joined Mixer to watch him, having not watched any Mixer channels in October.

This makes for some interesting reading, especially since Shroud and Ninja are two of the biggest streamers around, and both of their Mixer deals were big news for Microsoft and, of course, Twitch.

Is Mixer a bit competitor for Twitch?
