The Nomadic Tribes Culture Pack for Total War: Rome II has just been launched by Creative Assembly and Sega, and for those who download it before October 29, the content will be free of charge. After that it'll cost £5.99, so snap it up quick.

The nomadic tribes in question (Royal Scythians, Roxolani and Massagetae) all favour cavalry charges, and are ideal for those who prefer hit and run tactics and manoeuvrability on the battlefield. All three come with new buildings, tech trees, and campaign objectives.

CA's Mike Simpson said: "We've had more gamers playing ROME II, and for longer, in its first month than any other Total War to date. We are going to continue to work on gameplay feature balancing with our community who have been hugely helpful in feeding back on the game. Offering this DLC for free for the first week it's on sale is a celebration and a small thank you to them for helping us make this the biggest TW yet."
