GTA Online: lost progress gone for good
Rockstar confirms that lost characters and rank will not be restored

Rockstar has confirmed that players who lost characters due to the technical issues that beset the online portion of Grand Theft Auto V post-launch, will not be restored. In the latest update on Newswire it was explained:
"For those asking about their lost characters or rank, those will not be able to be restored so we sincerely hope that this cash stimulus we're giving out this month will help you get back on your feet or to make your new life in Los Santos & Blaine extra sweet."
