Naughty Dog has confirmed three different content drops for The Last of Us. The first is due out next week on October 16, and focuses on multiplayer, with new maps added to the roster.
The Suburbs map features a random, dynamic dust storm. Bus Depot is an overgrown urban environment (with giraffes). Hometown is set in moonlight, and Bookstore adds vertical gameplay with two floors.
The second piece of DLC is a story-driven adventure with "strong ties" to the main story, and it's expected in December/January. The third is more multiplayer content, expected in the first half of 2014.
