Battlefield 3 sells 5 million

EA have now made the official sell through numbers for Battlefield 3 official and the game sold an impressive 5 million copies in its first week. And this makes it the fastest selling EA title ever and also puts the franchise over 50 million in total.

While an impressive feat few games can match there is still some way to the numbers the Call of Duty franchise are pulling. Call of Duty: Black Ops needed just 24 hours to sell 5.6 million copies in North America and the UK alone last year.
