The Icelandic MMO developer/publisher CCP Games have announced that they are cutting staff by 20 per cent worldwide, resulting in pink slips for about 100 employees. The main bulk of the cuts hit the Atlanta operations where World of Darkness is in development, but jobs are also lost on Iceland.

The result is that while World of Darkness remains in development, it's development has been scaled down, with CCP focusing their efforts on EVE Online and the upcoming PS3 shooter Dust 514. World of Darkness has been in development for years, and for fans of the vampire fantasy RPG will have to wait a while longer for the much anticipated game.

"We lost focus on taking care of EVE, and it became more important for us to battle-test features in our strategic roadmap by adding them to EVE, rather than adding value to EVE," CEO Hilmar Petursson told Gamasutra.

CCP have recently been the focus on much player criticism over their handling of EVE Online, and the decision to go PS3 only with Dust 514. The latter is set for a limited beta in January on PSN.
