Creative Assembly's Mike Simpson has written an apology to Total War fans who have encountered problems with the recently released Rome II.
In a post on the TW Forums, the game's creative director told fans: "We just wanted to reassure you that we do know it's an extremely annoying and frustrating time for some of you at the moment and we are working around the clock to sort out those issues that you are having. The first patch has just gone up - it's not trouble-free we know and are fixing with a hotfix, but there will be another next week and every week after that till the problems are gone."
"At the moment it may seem that the changes are slight, but they aren't the only ones we are working on currently and bigger changes are happening now for future patches," he continued. "If you are having a problem, it is totally unacceptable and a big deal for us, please know that we are spending all our dev effort on fixing outstanding issues."
The first patch, aimed at addressing some the issues identified and reported by gamers, was released at the end of last week, and another is currently in beta. According to Simpson, 2% of gamers have encountered problems, and "that is 2% too many".
We didn't encounter any such issues when we played Total War: Rome II, just a couple of moments when the game shuddered under its own weight, and you can read our review here.
