NHL 12 breaks records

EA Sports have announced that NHL 12 recorded the biggest launch week of any game in the series so far, tallying up 451,000 copies and $27 million in revenue during its first week on the market. The numbers constitute a 19 per cent increase in Europe and North America as far as first week sales go.

EA also announced that a social game called NHL Superstars, will launch on Facebook early in October.

"The fan response to NHL 12 has been incredible, and we're delighted to expand the franchise to Facebook next month," said Andrew Wilson, Executive Vice President, EA SPORTS. "NHL 12 is our most exciting hockey game ever, with more than 300 gameplay improvements and the ability to play with some of the NHL's greatest legends."
