F1 2011 is heading to the PS Vita, and Codemasters has dropped a batch of screens to showcase the racer's handheld conversion.

The game, which is co-developed between Codemasters Birmingham and Sumo Digital, will obviously be missing the multi-format release next week as the UK awaits confirmation of a PS Vita launch date. However, by the looks of these screens, it'll be worth the wait.

The handheld version will feature all the official teams, drivers and circuits from the 2011 edition, and offer a full season, individual Grand Prix and a Time Trial mode. There'll also be a Challenge mode, offering a "wide range of objectives including checkpoint, gate and overtaking challenges."

PSV offers four player GRAND PRIX races, head-to-head Time Trials or two-on-two co-operative career mode. Multiplayer modes can be played online via the PlayStation Vita's WLAN connection. Gamers can tailor their experience across solo and multiplayer modes by adjusting race distance, tuning their car, choosing from a range of driving aids and selecting tyre, fuel and weather options.

REVIEW. Written by Thomas Blichfeldt | Gamereactor Denmark

"It's a game that captures the racing spirit, and gives the right amount of feedback. Rarely has it felt so rewarding to master a corner or pull off an overtake."
