Beta invites are being sent out for Batman: Arkham Origins, it has been revealed. Warner confirmed the news via Twitter: "If you've received an open beta invite for #ArkhamOrigins, yes it is legitimately from us. No spam or phishing, just fun times in Gotham."

A letter obtained by PlaystationLifestyle reveals more details:

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment would like to invite you to participate in an exclusive early Beta test of the next chapter from the Batman Arkham saga. Experience the intensity and trademark gameplay of the Invisible Predator mode like never before...online and with friends!

Now is your chance to take down your friends as Batman, or for the first time hunt down Batman and Robin as one of Bane or Joker's elite soldiers.

What will you get to do?

Play as both Batman and Robin.
Join and rank up as an Elite solider of Joker or Bane's gang.
Customize your Elite's loadout and look to suit your play style.
To turn the tide, bring in your leader and play as Joker or Bane.

When is this happening?

Batman: Arkham Origins Beta will be available from August 7, 2013 through August 14, 2013. We will be sending out updates periodically for organized play sessions.

REVIEW. Written by Rasmus Lund-Hansen

"Let's be clear: we like Arkham Origins. But in the twin shadows of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, it's hard not to view the game as a disappointment."
