Paradox Interactive announced a new turn-based strategy fantasy called Warlock: Master of the Arcane at Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in Seattle this past weekend. The game is set in the Majesty universe of Ardania, and in development at Ino-Co in Russia. Ino-Co have previously dabbled their feet in the genre with the likes of Fantasy Wars and Elven Legacy, and they were also responsible for Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim.

Warlock: Master of the Arcane

As you can expect from a turn-based strategy games the screens released give us little insight as to the nature of the gameplay. There will be maps, is really all we can say at this point.

The goal of the game seems to be to attain the title of Warlock, as there can only be one of those.

"While territory and control is nice, the ultimate goal is to be the one and only mage with the title of Warlock. You will have to utilize strategy, armies and dozens of spells in a symphony of doom to attain victory. If being an all powerful being isn't something you are interested in, battle on behalf of one of eight gods. Just remember, there can only be one Warlock."

Oh well, check out the teaser trailer, it sports a Sean Connery sound-a-like!
