The latest DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 - Vengeance - is heading to Xbox Live on July 2. Activision announced that the content will include four new maps (Cove, Detour, Rush, and Uplink - a re-imagining of fan-favourite Summit from the original Black Ops).

The Zombies strand of the Black Ops 2 story will be expanded on with Buried, which will see old and new characters face off against another swarm of undead soldiers, though this time players will be handed the Ray Gun Mark II in order to dispatch their enemies.

"When it's difficult to see the line between playtesting and leisurely gaming around the studio, it's a sure sign that we've created something fun with Vengeance," said Treyarch's Mark Lamia. " From the four multiplayer maps to our new Zombies experience, "Buried," Vengeance continues doing what we set out to accomplish from the very beginning of development on Call of Duty: Black Ops II: pushing the boundaries of fans' expectations."

As per the agreement between Activision and Microsoft, the content will be landing on Xbox Live first, with PC and PS3 versions set to follow thereafter.

REVIEW. Written by Mathias Holmberg

"It's made up of some of the most boring missions in the history of the franchise...at times this feels like a pastiche - a parody."
