Indie-game Minecraft has sold in 2,5 million copies so far, creator Notch has announced in a tweet the other day. "That's as much as Diablo 1 and Far Cry, according to Wikipedia," he writes and we have to agree - those are some impressive numbers!

The game is headed for Xperia Play later this year and a Kinect-enabled version will also be released for the Xbox 360 once the game is finished. Which it isn't yet, it's still only in beta. The official release date is set to November 11 (same day as Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, by the way), but it might be delayed for a week according to Notch.

"I would like to compare Minecraft to my favourite TV show of all times - Seinfeld. It's a game about nothing."
