EA had a few choice announcements for its Battlefield 3 section of its E3 Conference, with a clear snub towards its distinguished competition in the form of Battle Log.
Battle Log carries on EA's push towards networking its titles socially (FIFA and NFL are bringing their own versions this year). In Battlefield you can check stats and buddy up with friends to create squads going into multiplayer and a whole heap of other social features. As EA stressed at the conference - all this is absolutely free and will roll out ahead of Battlefield 3's release on October 25.
What will also be rolling out will be a public multi-platform beta in September to test out the game's servers. No more details on that just yet, but expect to hear some soon.
