"The authentification service is momentarily unavailable. We apologise for the inconvenience."

Petter mad. Petter smash. Petter worry if authentification service can't handle pressure now what will happen at launch? Petter got open beta code, please let him in or he'll huff and he'll puff...

Next go seems to be at 16.00 CET, which is in 30 minutes at the time I'm writing this. I don't have very high hopes that stuff will start working then. GOA, what are you guys doing? Let me in.

Update: Mark Jacobs is not happy with GOA or with idiot players. I feel his pain. First of all, this is all GOA's fault. Secondly, shit happens. It's frustrating, but don't be an asshat about it.

Update 2: No need to log in, you can now use the temporary activation page. Just got back home and put in my code, now I have to wait for the confirmation e-mail. I am still not holding my breath.

Update 3: Closing in on midnight, still no activation e-mail despite it being hours since I pushed my code in. The worst part? I might just get a mail telling me that I accidentally entered the wrong password for my WAR-account. Awesome, GOA. Just awesome. I feel so sorry for Mythic right now.

Update 4: I had forgotten how much I enjoyed Lost. I bought the boxed set with the first three seasons a while ago and I just saw the first episode of the third season. I only saw the first 12 episodes of that particular season when it aired, so I am looking forward to the parts I haven't seen yet. No spoilers, please. Still no e-mail. Wow, that emergency authentication thingie they put in place really helped.

Update 5: "This procedure is efficient...". Indeed it is. Very efficient. Did I enter the right password or not? "Please be assured that every step we take is done to - under the circumstances - deliver WAR to Europe as soon as possible". Indeed, launch is next week so you still got a couple of days to fix it. Oh, right - early access for the people who pre-ordered the Collector's Edition is even sooner than that, with standard edition pre-orders getting access just two days after that. That gives you what, a few days before Warhammer Online goes retail? Evangeline Lilly really is beautiful, by the way.

Update 6: Bengt is now threatening to spoil the ending of season 3 for me.

Update 7: Got an american beta code. Will that work faster? If it does, will I even bother playing WAR on the European servers or should I just go for the American version straight away? Will downloading a whole new client be faster than getting my European beta account working? What comes first? Is it worth it or should I just go to bed?

Update 8: Downloading the American beta client now. Going to bed. It's on - the US vs EU. Who wins? I guess I'll see tomorrow.

Update 9, 10:57am: Still no activation e-mail. Why am I not surprised? I tried registering again just now. Who knows? That might work. It is now officially more than 12 hours since I entered my code the first time. The procedure is, obviously, very efficient.

Update 10, 4.55pm: Look at that - the sun is really shining today. Good thing I still don't have access to the open beta then, so I don't have an excuse to sit inside instead of going outside. You have to take the good with the bad, I suppose. Am I the only one left in the world without access now? I'm not at home, so I can't check the usual forums right now. I have no clue what is going on anymore.

Update 11, 7.59pm: Just got back home. Last try. Then...no more. The Official Updates-thread on Warhammer Alliance is now 317 pages long. That's a thing of beauty.

Update 12, 9.30pm: It is now, officially, more than 24 hours since I first registered my beta code with GOA. I have yet to recieve a single e-mail, not even a mail telling me that the authentication has failed. Nothing. Nada. I have about 14 hours left downloading the US client, that for some reason is downloading really slow, and I suppose I will be playing that come tomorrow. GOA, you fail. Miserably. Is this is a good way to start a relationship with thousands of new, potential customers? Not really.

Update 13, 01:01am: "We just received the good news that every account which has entered a valid code for the open beta is now registered and can access the patcher and game servers." Right. So why can't I log in? Might it be because I entered an invalid code? I've punched in a few different versions now, all according to the tips on the website. How will I find out? I am supposed to get an e-mail telling me the authentication failed. I haven't recieved one. How come? "Our e-mail server is still very busy and due to a bug, mails are being sent out although not nearly as fast as we would hope. In the meantime make sure to start our patcher and check if you have access." Come on, now you are just making stuff up.

Update 14, 5.18pm: I just recieved my confirmation mail, in French. I'm in. I am not home right now, so I can't try it out yet, but it should work now. Awesome.

Update 15, 7.50pm: I am now, finally, patching Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. This live blog is now over. It feels...great. I will be back with first impressions from the open beta as soon as I've had time to play. Phew. Good thing that's done.
