Danger Close, the studio behind last year's Medal of Honor: Warfighter, may have been closed down or drastically downsized by EA, according to reports.

The Medal of Honor franchise was taken "off the rotation" by EA following the game's poor performance last year, and since then we've heard very little from the studio that created the game.

Originally EA refused to comment on the subject, but subsequently Videogamer published a statement from the publisher that neither confirms or denies that the studio is still open for business, casting doubt on its long-term future:

"EA is sharpening its focus to provide games for new platforms and mobile. In some cases, this involves reducing team sizes as we evolve into a more efficient organization. Unfortunately we don't disclose impact on individual teams or locations," said EA Tiffany Steckler, without giving much away.
