This week saw the release of the Castle Map Pack for 343's Halo 4. The new maps (Daybreak, Outcast and Perdition) are to be followed by successive content drops and special offers throughout the week.
Alongside the new maps we'll be getting Competitive Skill Rank (CSR), which on paper sounds similar to the ranking system employed in Halo 3, with players being ranked between levels 1-50. Hopefully it'll mean more effective matchmaking, and for competent players, a potential source of pride. Also, those who hit CSR level 35 or higher before April 22 will get an exclusive avatar t-shirt.
Today Volume 2 of the Original Soundtrack makes its debut, with a further 11 tracks from Neil Davidge, and eight more by in-house composer Kazuma Jinnouchi, available as a digital download.
Tomorrow we'll be getting a batch of Extra XP Challenges, designed to speed up the ranking process, and on Thursday there's to be a focus on co-op, with players who tuck into Spartan Ops set to receive a special avatar t-shirt.
Friday sees a Halo 4 DLC sale, with both the Crimson and Majestic Map Packs (600 MS Points), and the War Games Map Pass (1600 MS Points), each getting a 25% discount.
