Game designer Asher Vollmer has left his position at thatgamecompany, and has departed the studio saying that the follow up to Journey is "going to be huge" and that "it's going to change the industry in a really positive way."
The move away is so that Vollmer can concentrate on smaller, self-directed projects, after the designer grew frustrated that his ideas were constantly being "brushed under the rug" with focus firmly on the studio's next game.
Vollmer's recent Tumblr post explained: "Obviously I can't divulge any details about it, but... It's going to be huge. And I don't mean it's going to be a long sprawling game, I mean it's going to be an IMPORTANT game. I genuinely believe it's going to change the industry in a really positive way."
Journey, many people's Game of the Year, was recently handed six awards at the Games Developers Choice Awards at the Moscone Center in San Francisco at this year's GDC.
