After the successful Kickstarter campaign of Wasteland 2, Brian Fargo's InXile Entertainment are now launching a second Kickstarter campaign this time for the spiritual successor to Planescape Torment - Torment: Tides of Numenera.

Just a couple hours after launching the campaign it has already amassed more than 6,000 backers pledging more than $330,000 of the $900,000 target. So things are looking good for a second successful Kickstarter campaign for InXile Entertainment.

InXile adding their reasoning behind launching a second Kickstarter before Wasteland 2 is finished and released:

"The writers and artists are done working on Wasteland 2 and will begin immediately on Torment: Tides of Numenera, if funded. This allows the team to stay together and work continuously rather than get laid off and have to wait for the next project."

Sounds reasonable enough. Torment: Tides of Numenera is being targeted for release in December next year on PC, Mac and Linux.
