Guerilla Games have revealed their next generation vision of their shooter franchise with a PS4 demo of Killzone: Shadow Fall at Sony's conference.
Managing director Herman Hulst came on stage to introduce the game and a live demo (at least, there was someone clutching a controller on stage as the lights dimmed). The year's 2381, and the demo opened on us swooping over a sprawling futuristic - and bright - metropolis, sky traffic filtering between skyscrapers.
Landing on a nearby rooftop and going through a security checkpoint, Guerilla took their time panning round civilians and glowing ads - before a explosion destroyed the tranquil mood. We watch as security personnel are revealed as as cloaked Helghast - and all hell breaks loose.
We're back to shooting territory, but with a visual quality that more powerhouse PC than console. The demo ended with a swoop over the city as the player climbed aboard a fleeing dropship, stuck some C4 inside and jumped out. But don't take our word for it - check out the demo footage below!
