Not a chance, but it's good gossip.

Data miners have uncovered some potentially sparkling rumours after discovering Halo 3, Fez and Quantum Conundrum 2 listed in the Steam Database.

It's highly likely that some of the games listed (Halo 2 and Halo 3, for example) are simply not heading to Steam, with the entries likely to be placeholders for proposed ports and projects that never made it to the digital service. Indeed, links to community pages for games like Halo 3 have now been removed, with redirects in place taking you to the frontpage of Steam instead.

It's the inclusion of games like Fez and Quantum Conundrum 2 that really excite the interest, and add gravitas to the rumours surrounding the less likely titles. But we shouldn't be too surprised, as Fez has recently been confirmed as heading to multiple platforms, with Steam its logical home on PC. Quantum Conundrum 2 has yet to be announced, and this incident may have outed the game, but we'll have to wait and see on that one.

But Fez and co aside, the chances of Halo 3 making the leap from Xbox to PC are slim to say the least, and it's much more likely that the games were listed in error, or activated in a recent update after remaining dormant for years. Either that or Valve are playing with us.

"It's a great sci-fi adventure that has stood the test of time with good grace, ported capably to PC as part of an unmissable collection."
