We knew it was coming, of course, but we didn't have an official announcement. Now Naughty Dog have given an exclusive reveal of Uncharted 3 - now dubbed Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - to Entertainment Weekly, who got to visit the studio to look at the game.

Aimed for a release late next year, Uncharted 3 will according to Entertainment Weekly focus on the relationship between Drake and Sully. Drake is searching for a lost city on the Arabian peninsula and the theme of "deception" is supposed to run through the whole game (including, mysteriously enough, Drake's identity...). Naughty Dog showed a level, but since it's still heavily under NDA, all Entertainment Weekly can reveal is that it was "quintessential Uncharted". Which is good enough for us. And considering the supernatural elements of Uncharted, and the fact that H.P. Lovecraft did mention the lost Arabian city, can we hope for some tentacly (it's a word) Cthulhu-references...?

We can at least hope for a trailer, or anything gameplay-related, to be shown at the Spike TV Video Game Awards this weekend. Head on over to Entertainment Weekly and read about their first impressions of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
