Last week Mark Wahlberg confirmed he was playing the role of Nathan Drake in an cinematic adaptation of Uncharted, and now director David O Russell has weighed in on what we should expect to see of Drake's big-screen debut.

Speaking to the LA Times (via Empire) Russell explains he's currently halfway through the script.

"The idea that really turns me on is that there's a family that's a force to be reckoned with in the world of international art and antiquities," Russell says. "They deal with heads of state and heads of museums and mete out justice. We'll have the family dynamic, which we've done in a couple of movies now [Flirting With Disaster, The Fighter] and then you take that and put it on the bigger, more muscular stage of an international action picture, but also put all the character stuff in it. That's a really cool idea to me."

Whether that'll sell with either Uncharted fans or movie audiences remains to be seen.
