The upcoming movie adaptation of Naughty Dog's Uncharted, penciled in for release next year, has finally gotten its own Nathan Drake: actor Mark Wahlberg.
Speaking to MTV Multiplayer, Wahlberg also confirmed that his long-time collaborator, who worked with the actor on I love Huckabees, Three Kings and the upcoming The Fighter, David O. Russell, will direct.
"David is one of the best writer/directors I've ever worked with," the actor said. "The idea that he has is just insane. So hopefully we'll be making that movie this summer."
Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro have also been talked to about appearing in the movie, though at this point its just conjecture.
"I'm obviously in whatever David wants to do but the idea of it is so off the charts: De Niro being my father, Pesci being my uncle. It's not going to be the watered-down version, that's for sure," Mark explained.
It won't be the first time that the actor has worked on a videogame movie adaptation. here's hoping Uncharted is better than his last attempt.
