Ubisoft has announced free DLC will be released for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood on December 14.

The Animus Project Update 1.0 will bundle together a new gameplay mode and map for the game's multiplayer. As the name suggests Advanced Alliance offers a more difficult spin on the original Alliance mode, rewarding the three teams of two for utilising stealth techniques.

The new map takes you out of Rome and onto the island of Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy, France. The area will balance narrow streets with multi-leveled architecture.

Ubisoft Montreal Executive Producer Sebastien Puel had this to say of the DLC: "We are very thrilled to be able to offer the first Multiplayer DLC for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood for absolutely free.

We wanted to say thank you to our fans for making Brotherhood such a huge success its opening week. We are very proud of the unique and innovative Multiplayer mode it offers, and hope the fans enjoy the new content."
