Activision and Treyarch are breaking out the champagne right now, considering they just managed to break the record in sales set by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 last year. Call of Duty: Black Ops sold 5,6 million copies during its first 24 hours, only counting the US and UK, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 "only" managed to sell in 4,7 million in the same markets during its first day.
With that the game probably broke Halo: Reach's numbers, which has sold around 6 million copies in two months, in a single day.
The premiere of Modern Warfare 2 was the biggest entertainment launch ever (counting books, music and film) and now Activision broke that very record - which in itself is a record, since no entertainment brand has managed to set that very record two years in a row.
Sadly, we don't have any pictures of Bobby Kotick swimming in money, but we expect to se a leaked video on YouTube during the next couple of days.
