Following the usual annual sports simulations releases, such as FIFA 18, PES 2018, and NBA 2K18, a rugby game will also appear at the beginning of the school year. Rugby 18 has already been in development for two years now at Eko Software, the French studio behind the recent Handball 17.
Rugby 18 will have many licenses with some 2,000 international players, mostly from the French Top 14 and Premiership Rugby. Presented as "the most immersive oval entertainment ever created," Rugby 18 will have the daunting task of introducing amateurs to the world of rugby video games.
Benjamin Lalisse, Managing Director, had this to say about the game: "Being a big fan of the sport, it's a pleasure to work on Rugby 18. The team is working hard to transcribe as faithfully as possible everything that makes rugby so unique. I hope that the sports fans will find in it the intensity of the biggest games and will take pleasure in controlling their team."
We can only hope that this promising game can live up to its claims when it launches in October. Do you think rugby video games are underappreciated?
