We tried to squeeze some details out of Almir Listo.

Following last week's Starstream event we had a chat with Payday 2 producer Almir Listo about the state of that game as it approaches its fifth year anniversary. The last paid DLC (featuring h3h3 productions), the Switch version, the lack of updates for the PS4/Xbox One versions, and VR was discussed.

Finally, we couldn't help asking if there's anything he could say about Payday 3.

"I can say it's in pre-production," answered Listo. "I can tell you that it's going to be something else. Having had the privilege to be a part in making Payday: The Heist happen and being a producer on Payday 2 and having the opportunity and the privilege to complete the trilogy is a dream come true. And me together with the rest of the Payday 3 team are super excited to share more about when we're ready. But that's all I can say about it now because we don't want to talk about something that might get changed. And we might change our minds a lot during development."

Payday 2 will get support in the shape of free updates following the last paid DLC this fall as Starbreeze plan on supporting it up until October, 2018 on Steam. Hopefully, the console version will start to get updates very soon, but there's still no firm word on when that will happen. When we'll hear more of Payday 3 remains to be seen...

REVIEW. Written by Kieran Harris

The Payday gang are back but is this a worthy sequel or should it have remained behind bars?
