When we were in London previewing Volition's Agents of Mayhem, we managed to talk to Associate Design Director Thaddeus Sasser about the upcoming game, and more specifically about the world of Seoul and what players can do in it.

"Ah, there's a lot to do," Sasser said. "I guess I should start to tell you that there's the outposts for example. Legion has taken over certain districts in the city and dropped outposts in there, and if you take over these outposts, Mayhem unlocks the ability to capture these and use these for their own ends, and these unlock additional quests and information. You can find, for example, hidden Legion dungeons in the various district and [the] city once you've taken over the outpost. So there's a lot of interesting elements that you can explore and find as you play through the game."

Sasser also talked about the visual style of the game world: "The world also looks pretty vibrant and alive, and there's a lot more saturation and contrast in the game world as well, which is kind of a new art direction for us. Now I'm not an artist, I'm a designer, but personally I think that the art in this game is some of the best looking stuff that Volition's done."

Agents of Mayhem is due out this August for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and you can watch the full interview down below. Is Seoul a setting that grabs your interest?

REVIEW. Written by Kieran Harris

"It may have its fair share of technical flaws and slight imperfections, but it's still an undoubtedly fun game with plenty of personality."
