According to images that have emerged online, the next instalment of Call of Duty will return to a World World II setting. A video was posted by TheFamilyVideoGamers on Thursday, and the account says that alleged promotional images for the next game were emailed to them by an anonymous source. The video shows a poster and four steelbook concept images depicting a beach landing, which is probably D-Day.
Last month Activision told investors that it would take the next game in the Call of Duty series "back to its roots," because Infinite Warfare's futuristic setting "didn't resonate" and the game "underperformed." This adds fuel to the fire of rumours, then, especially since the last time the series visited World War II was in 2008 with Call of Duty: World at War.
