Those of you who pre-ordered Final Fantasy XV also got an exclusive treat for doing so; a side-scrolling platformer called A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV.

Not all of us have had the chance to play this retro-styled game, though, but we can now try it for free starting from next week. A King's Tale will be available as a free download on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network starting March 1, as reported by Gematsu.

Final Fantsy XV didn't tell all of its story within the game itself. So in order to get a full understanding of Noctis' journey, it's recommended to at least watch the movie called Kingsglaive, and perhaps to check out the Brotherhood anime series, as well as A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV.

There are also incoming updates for Final Fantasy XV that'll make adjustments to the game's story, filling in a couple of plot-holes that have bugged players since launch. A nice touch, but something that's quite unusual for a developer to tweak AFTER a game is released.
