CD Projekt, the studio responsible for the popular Witcher games, have revealed some further information on their upcoming game based on the pen-and-paper role playing game Cyberpunk 2020.

The title of the game will be Cyberpunk 2077, throwing it further into the future, and the story is said to a non-linear, adult themed affair.

CD Projekt have launched an official website and blog, that you may want to follow if you're interested in this project, even if there isn't a great deal of information on there at this point. The game will play out in Night City, where you will have access to lots of weaponry, implants and futuristic gadgets.

Mike Pondsmith, creator of Cyberpunk 2020, had the following to say on why he teamed up with CD Projekt for the game:

"The Team has to love the material. The Team has to want to be faithful to the material. The Team has to have the skills to execute the material and see that vision through to the end. They have to be on fire with the desire to make an extraordinary game. And that leads, at last, to why we hooked up with CD Projekt RED."

Night City is something of a warzone where rival gangs have taken over, and there will be night clubs and similar seedy establishments to hang out at. No firm release date has been set for Cyberpunk 2077, but we anticipate more information will begin to trickle out at regular intervals from here on.
