Ubisoft have now officially announced and detailed the Assassin's Creed III DLC offerings that will be served up in a neat season pass package.

All things told, the DLC plans are for five packs - three episodic entries in a new alternate history solo campaign called "The Tyranny of King Washington" - as well as additional packs containing new multiplayer maps and characters as well as undisclosed singleplayer content.

"History is our playground, and Assassin's Creed teams have always loved playing with historical facts and their consequences as a way to better understand a time period." said Sebastien Puel, Executive Producer at Ubisoft. "While Assassin's Creed III concentrates on history as it happens, we wanted to take some liberties with this DLC and tell you how things ‘could have happened."

The plan is for the DLC packs to roll out within 6 months of release (October 31). You can pick up the season pass now on Playstation Store (£23.99), and it will become available on Xbox Live from October 31 (2400 points) and from November 22 on PC. All the DLC will also be release on Wii U.
