During this year's Blizzcon, Blizzard has announced something that should be music to the ears of many of their long-time fans: the original Diablo is set to make a return as part of the Diablo III patch, Darkening of Tristram.
Starting from next week (on the Public Test Realm at least), players will be able to select classic graphics and even the 8-way movement of old. There'll be sixteen levels of classic dungeon crawling goodness, and the four main bosses from the original will be there too.
On top of that there's the news that two new zones are coming to Reaper of Souls - Shrouded Moors and Temple of the First Born - and will land sometime next year. And of course there's also the small matter of the Necromancer class coming to the game next year as part of a paid expansion.
