Hello Games' No Man's Sky has been a hot topic amongst gamers this month. It started with someone getting their hands on the game before launch. Then, when the game officially launched, people started sharing their concerns regarding bugs and other technical issues. Shortly after that players started questioning if the game was missing certain features that Hello Games had promised. Turns out the list of "missing features" got very long when players put their heads together on Reddit. Players are understandably upset they didn't get what they wanted from the game, and some have gone so far as to demand refunds from retailers. Last week we wrote about how some players slammed certain refund policies after being rejected. Now it seems that the retailers might have loosened up at bit.

Recent Reddit and NeoGAF threads have begun collecting stories of people being able to get refunds on No Man's Sky through Amazon, Steam, and PlayStation Network. Some users who reported technical difficulties with the game have been receiving refunds, even after spending as much as 88 hours with it. Others have chosen to ask for refunds due to false advertising.

The fact that Amazon and Steam are giving refunds might not come as a surprise, as both of those services have policies that are willing to make case-by-case exceptions. That Sony is willing to give refunds comes as a bigger surprise, as their policy clearly states that "You can cancel a digital content purchase within 14 days from the date of transaction, provided that you have not started downloading or streaming it." Still, it seems that even they are willing to make exceptions in some cases.
