The enormous success of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, which launched earlier this year on Steam Early Access, has made it possible for developer Bluehole to expand the game far beyond what it currently offers.

Brendan Greene, also known as PlayerUnknown, talked to Game Informer about his future plans for the game.

A much-requested replay feature is in development, both in 2D and in 3D. It will allow players to better learn from their mistakes, and also it will be easier to make awesome videos, which makes sense given the popularity of the game on streaming platforms.

A co-op campaign is also a possibility in the future. Friends would be able to explore the island before its collapse, taking over territories from occupying troops.

The game's performance and lag issues are discussed in the same interview. And while we're on the subject of performance, here are the patch notes for the upcoming update (due to land tomorrow, June 1, at 8am BST / 9am CEST):

Improved performance by reducing effects played excessively during vehicle crashes
Server performance
