Some of you might have been looking forward to a first glimpse at how Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 looks and plays, beyond our hands-on impressions. But, alas, the game wasn't playable on the showfloor (just BCD) and the trailer unveiled was but a teaser, with no real gameplay camera footage.

Speaking to Gamereactor, PES 2017 captain Adam Bhatti explained that there's no gameplay trailer for the game so far because the PES team is still implementing new features and improvements:

"We are still not showing the full gameplay trailer because we're taking our time with Fox [Engine]. And that's a beautiful thing. I think what people forget is that we're still learning about Fox, and Fox is still improving. (...) So hopefully we'll still be able to surprise you."

In terms of specific graphical improvements, Bhatti mentions better player models, stadiums, crowds, or even volumetric lighting, so that the players look more 3D on the pitch. However, the wait won't kill anyone:

"But please wait. We're going to keep inputting more of the Fox Engine elements that we're still learning about, and hopefully before Gamescom or by Gamescom you will be able to see the game in its full force".
