After ten years with the company, Diablo 3 director Jay Wilson has announced that he's leaving Blizzard, and the gaming industry entirely in order to pursue his writing passion.

The announcement came via Wilson's personal Twitter account, where he said the following:

"Sad to say after 10 of the best years of my life this will be my last week at Blizzard, and in the games industry. I'm leaving to pursue my original passion, writing. It's what I was doing when I fell into this job, and I've always wanted to return to it."

Jay Wilson became a public figure after criticising the auction house in Diablo III, citing it as "the wrong solution". Before joining Blizzard he designed several games at Relic Entertainment, including Company of Heroes.
