Konami today announced that their license with UEFA has been extended, meaning the game can feature the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League competitions once again.

La Liga and Serie A licenses have been agreed, perfect if you support a team in either of those leagues. Beyond that, individual agreements with clubs have been reached (with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, FC Porto, AEK Athens, Galatasaray Istanbul, Shahktar Donetsk, FC Kopenhagen, Zenit St Petersburg, CSKA Moscow, RSC Anderlecht, Dinamo Kyiv and Dinamo Zagreb listed). Konami are putting the number of officially licensed teams at over 150, with many national teams also included.

"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with UEFA to bring The UEFA Champions League back to PES 2013 exclusively," said Konami's George Richard.

"As PES 2013 continues to innovate with new gameplay features, such as PES FullControl, it's important to align ourselves with the most respected club competition in the world and allow players to showcase their individuality on the biggest stage."

PES 2013 is set to launch in September on Xbox 360 and PS3, with other versions (PS2, PSP, Wii and 3DS) coming later in the year.

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"It's a very good game. A return to form for the series then, even if it doesn't go on to win the league."
