Konami has told Shacknews that Hideo Kojima will keep working with the Metal Gear Solid in the future. Not really a big surprise these days, but if it's in a writing or directing role is unclear. It was during a conversation with Metal Gear Solid Rising's producer, Shigenobu Matsuyama, that Kojima's future involvement in the series was hinted at.
"I've been asked a lot, 'Is this going to be a side-story or spin-off to the MGS series?', but what I'm positioning is that there will be a Hideo Kojima game that is MGS, but what we are planning as Kojima Productions is have this Raiden Rising as almost as a standard so that there's an MGS and the Rising going back-and-forth in the future," Matsuyama said.
What game Matsuyama is talking about is not clear, but it might possible be the Nintendo 3DS-game. Or something completely different. Who knows? We do know one thing for certain - Hideo Kojima did not quit working on Metal Gear-games after Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
