Naughty Dog's Uncharted series is quite succesful, both in terms of critical reception and sales. Now we've learned a little bit more about just how succesful the series has been in terms of sales.

During an interview with Fox Business, President of Sony Interactive Entertainment America Shawn Layden has stated that the series has sold 28 million units to date. The series includes Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, Uncharted: Golden Abyss for PlayStation Vita and the Uncharted Collection on PS4. Perhaps that figure also includes some of the very first sales numbers of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

According to industry analyst Michael Pachter, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be met by strong demand, but that PS4 numbers will limit sales:

"It likely will sell between seven to 10 million units. It's hard to attach at a rate higher than 25% of the 40 million PS4's out there."

Of course, some would argue that limiting potential Uncharted 4 sales to a percentage of the current user base is not painting the whole picture. In our opinion (and note, we're not analysts), Uncharted 4 could very well be the first game bought by many new PS4 owners for years to come.
