At EA's press conference at this year's Gamescom, it was just announced that Origin, the digital distribution platform recently established by EA, is heading to Mac in the near future.

Leading the charge is going to be Sim City, and as that game is set to launch on Mac by February 2013, we can assume that everything will be up and running (re Origin) by this date.

"Whether you owned a Macintosh or a DOS PC, we all have memories of laying down zones and reticulating splines from our youth," said EA's Lucy Bradshaw.

"To the millions of SimCity fans out there, we've been listening and can proudly say that your calls have been answered. SimCity has a long legacy on the Mac and the team at Maxis is ensuring that it will be the deepest, richest and most accessible SimCity game yet."

We've slipped in a token screenshot, but a trailer is on the way, so keep checking back on the site for more details.
