The Last Guardian in doubt

Over in the U.S. it seems that Sony has just terminated the rights to the name The Last Guardian. The game from Team Ico - the company behind Ico and Shadow of the Colossus - was first shown at E3 in 2007, but has been conspicuous in its absence in recent years.

The game's development has not been without problems: Fumito Ueda - founder of Team Ico - left his position in the company in November 2011 but has said he would continue working on the game as a consultant.

Since then, no one has heard much of anything. So, is this the final nail in the coffin for the highly anticipated game from Sony? Or are they just looking to change its name?
