Fans hoping to squeeze some more life out of the superlative Mass Effect 3 are in for a treat, after new DLC was announced for the final chapter of Bioware's sci-fi opus.
Leviathan will be a story driven piece of content that will give players insight into the history of the Reapers, as Shepard and co race across the galaxy to uncover a new secret weapon, powerful enough to destroy even a reaper.
The Normandy and her crew must explore new regions of space and unravel the secret of the Leviathan. There will uncharted systems to scan and explore, as well as new areas on the Citadel. Expect new characters to interact with and new weapons to unlock (the AT-12 Raider shotgun and M-55 Argus Assault Rifle).
For many, though, the chance to explore the backstory of the Reapers will be enticing enough.
The content is set to launched sometime this summer (which presumably means later this month) and will be available across all formats. It'll cost 800 MS Points or $10 (expect a price point of roughly £7.99 - though we'll confirm that closer to the time).
Bioware also released details of the Firefight Weapons Pack. The content will be available for $2 or 160 MS Points and will contain two powerful new weapons, plus five bonus weapons to use in the fight against the Reapers. This one will be available to download on August 7.
